Keep some distance away and spray it wide when you are spraying the cleaning solution on your upholstery.
2) Don’t use petroleum contained conditioners.
When you go to the store to get your car seat’s conditioner, make sure to look at the label. You are advised to not use petroleum contained conditioner on your leather upholstery.

4) Don’t work on the cleaning or conditioning if unsure of the upholstery’s material or cleaning solution.
Not everyone is an expert regarding car upholstery and when you want to clean your car seats, you need to know its material to select the suitable cleaner or conditioner for it.
If you don’t know your car seat’s upholstery material and you don’t know which cleaning solution to use, you are recommended to not do the cleaning and seek advice from the professionals.
5) Don’t let the price factor determine your cleaner’ selection. Choose the most suitable one.
It's true that we compare an item's price before purchasing an item but in the case of cleaning your car seat’s cleaning, let's put the price factor down.
You should look into the most suitable cleaner for your car seats instead of the price factors. You may get a cheaper cleaner solution but the one that is not suitable with your car seats will cost you more on the damage.
6) Don’t use clothes that are too soaked with cleaning liquid.
When cleaning or wiping your car seat, make sure to squeeze the excessive water out. If the cloth is too soaked, or containing too much cleaning liquid, it will damage the upholstery.
Wet cloth also causes the excessive water to seep into the car seat and risk the growth of mold. Remember, squeeze the cloth well.
