Waxing your car is important to protect the exterior surface of your car, protecting the paint but how do you get waxing done properly? There are a few things you should know before waxing your car to get the best result.

Preparing the surface.

Before waxing your car, you need to make sure that the exterior surface of your car is clean and dust free. In order to get your car clean, you need to wash your car properly then dry it. Proper cleaning is important because if there is dirt or dust on the surface, it will ruin the waxing job and might cause scratches. Try to use the car wash soap when you are cleaning your car.

Keep the car cool.

Before you start waxing your car, make sure that the surface of your car is cool to touch. Keep your car under the shade or in your garage. When the car is cool, apply car sealant to a soft sponge and spread it on your car surface evenly. Sealant should be applied before using wax on the car surface. After a minute or two, remove the cured sealant with a clean and dry soft cloth.

Wipe the dried sealant.

Continue removing the dried sealant while avoiding other parts of the car exterior like the glass, and rubber moldings. Whenever the cloth is full of dried sealant, fold it and use the other surface or change the cloth. Make sure to buff and seal every surface and check for any remaining sealant.

Finishing step.

To get your car extra shiny, allow the sealant to cure for at least three to four hours then apply a little carnauba wax on top of the sealant. By adding layers of sealant and carnauba wax, the car exterior surface will be protected and shine well.
